DOCTORS
Mitch Kramer, DVM
Senior Owner/President
Dr. Kramer was born in New York and moved to Colorado in his early teens. After high school he attended Colorado State University, receiving his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1986 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
In early 1994 Dr. Kramer ventured out on his own opening Indian Tree Animal Hospital. Although initially practicing full time as the clinics only veterinarian, Mitch has now moved into a completely managerial role.
Dr. Kramer's interests include travel and wildlife photography. Photos from his trips to Tanzania can be seen hung throughout the hospital.
Dr. Kramer and his wife Jennifer have a son that was born in August of 2002. Their family also includes three cats, Cody, Murphy, and Casey, and two Guinea Pigs.
Tom Adducci, DVM
Owner/Vice President
Dr. Thomas Adducci is a Colorado native who grew up in north Denver. After finishing high school, Tom attended Colorado State University where he earned a bachelors degree in Veterinary Science in 1987. Tom completed his DVM at Colorado State University in 1991.
Currently Tom is co-owner of Indian Tree Animal Hospital. He enjoys seeing all types of animals and has a special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, and acupuncture.
Tom’s hobbies and interests include weight and cardiovascular training, fly-fishing, and camping. Dr. Adducci and his wife Candace have two children and share their house with their two cats Jazz and Holley.
Emily B. Smith, DVM
Veterinarian|
Dr. Smith was born and raised in East Liverpool, OH. She earned her BS
with honors at the University of Vermont with a double major in Animal Science
and Biology and minor in Nutritional Science. After traveling and living in 7 different
states across the country she landed in Colorado where she earned a Masters in Physiology at Colorado State University. She also received her DVM from CSU in 2006. Her main interest is feline medicine.
Dr Smith lives with her husband who is also a Veterinarian, two daughters, and two cats.
Suzanne Tousley, DVM
Veterinarian
Suzanne Tousley was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design, she moved to Denver and worked as a designer in an architectural firm for 5 years. She then returned to her interest in medicine and obtained her veterinary technician degree from Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology and then continued on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2007. After graduating from veterinary school she was selected to participate in a yearlong rotating internship with emphasis in emergency medicine at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital.
Dr. Tousley’s professional interests include oncology, clinical pathology, and surgery. She lives in Golden with her husband, Tony, who will be competing in the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon in October, and their dog, Stuka. They share a great love of the outdoors. In her free time she enjoys gardening, hiking, and running.
Anjuli Hein, DVM
Veterinarian
Anjuli Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology and then continued on to veterinary school at Colorado State University, graduating in 2007. She moved to Salida, CO after graduation to work in a mixed animal practice. Dr. Hein is excited to move to Arvada and join Indian Tree in November 2008. Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventive care, and alternative medicine. Dr. Hein and her husband Glenn enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Tomoko Jensen-Otsu, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Tomoko was born in California and spent her childhood in many places including Calgary, Alaska, and New Jersey. She received her bachelor of science with honors in physics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She then spent 4 years working in the nuclear energy industry at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington and then at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Washington D.C. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine at Virginia Tech in 2007 and moved to Colorado shortly after graduation.
Her professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, and practice management. She spends her free time mountain biking, road biking, running, hiking, climbing, camping, and just about anything that involves being in the outdoors. She lives with her husband, four dogs (Max, Cody, Dixie, and Naner), and a very large orange cat named Gilbert.
Lauren Ungar, DVM
Veternarian
Lauren Ungar was born and raised on Long Island in New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and then headed south to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. After graduation in 2003, she and her (now) husband, Todd, moved to Colorado where they have called home ever since.
Dr. Ungar’s professional interests include internal and preventive medicine, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She and her husband live in Denver with their dogs, Ruby and Monkey and their cat, Serena. They spend their free time enjoying the great Colorado outdoors and love traveling, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, running, and camping.

Veterinary Nurse and Purchaser
Sarah did an internship prior to working at Indian Tree. Her special interest is emergency medicine. She is also our purchaser and implemented a new bar coding system. Sarah has been with Indian Tree for three years.
Erica, CVT
Veterinary Nurse
Erica graduated from Bel Rea then worked for Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Erica brings the experience of working for a busy specialty and emergency hospital. Her laugh brings joy to the team every morning.
Rhonda, CVT
Veterinary Nurse and Massage Practitioner
Rhonda has been a veterinary nurse for over 18 years. She began her career working for one of the pioneers in veterinary orthopedic surgery. In 2002, Rhonda became certified in massage. She offers post-op massage, therapeutic massage, and reiki to our patients at the Pet Lodge or the hospital. Rhonda also works couple days a week at the Dermatology practice at Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado.
Liz, CVT
Veterinary Nurse
Liz is originally from New York and moved to Colorado to go to Bel Rea. After graduation, Liz worked for a mixed animal practice in Southeast Colorado. She also holds a college degree in veterinary technology and business management. She loves horses and is working on being a surrogate mom for orphaned wildlife.
Sasha
Veterinary Nurse
Sasha moved from Chicago where she worked for a busy10-doctor practice for over five years starting as a veterinary assistant and promoted to a position as a vet tech. She holds both a bachelor and master degree. She complements the team wonderfully with her experience.
Jennifer
Veterinary Nurse
Jennifer is currently a veterinary technology student at Community College of Denver. She moved to Colorado from Illinois where she worked for several large veterinary hospitals for over nine years as a veterinary assistant. She has been trained and has been performing duties as a nurse for over six years.

Veterinary Assistant
Sarah has been a veterinary assistant for over two years. She received a certification as a veterinary assistant in 2007 from a Denver college. She is a dedicated team member and it shows in everything she does.
Kate
Veterinary Assistant
Kate is currently a student at Bel Rea. She began her career in the animal industry as an assistant trainer and behaviorist. Four years ago she worked for a busy veterinary hospital in Ottawa. She was a kennel tech then a CCR and eventually became a veterinary assistant. She lives in Denver with Meadow, her mastiff.

Judy joined Indian Tree in 1997 as her second career. Before coming to Indian Tree, she worked in the corporate oil business for several years. She plays an integral role on our team and clients ask for her by name. Judy enjoys spending time with family and good friends, good food and lots of laughing! She lives with four legged kids named Luke & Peanut.
Amanda
CCR and Scheduler
Amanda followed the foot steps of her sister, one of our veterinary nurses, and volunteered as a teenager in 2001. We hired her as one of our first Kennel Technician at our current location then made a lateral move to become a CCR about two years ago. She hopes to pursue a career in law. She lives on a farm with every domesticated animal you can think of, from ponies to goats to ferrets.

Jason has a diverse background in customer service and marketing. He is new to the veterinary industry, but is a quick learner. He is great with our clients.
Tracy
CCR
Tracy has been a vet nurse and office manager for over eight years in Wyoming before becoming an office manager at a very large eleven doctor emergency hospital in Colorado. She decided to work for a smaller office so she would have more time with her children. Tracy has excellent customer service skills. We are happy to have her join our team. You"ll be asking her by name soon enough!

Rose, DVM, MBA
Hospital Administrator
Rose graduated from Colorado State University in 1999 with a DVM degree. She joined Indian Tree in 2007. She brings a variety of experience working in the veterinary industry for over 18 years and worked in every position in a veterinary hospital. She understands the challenges of each position. Her experience on the project management team that helped open Centura’s Parker Adventist Hospital gave her a broad understanding of business models and organizational management. She has two cats (Loki and Odin) and two dogs (Seven and Woofie).
Lynn, CVT
Lodge Manager and Operations Manager
Lynn helped Dr. Kramer start Indian Tree in 1994 when the practice was located across the street. She was the nurse, receptionist, and manager. She is an important part of our team and has set the stepping stones of leaving a legacy at Indian Tree. Lynn’s nickname is “The Cat Whisperer.” She lives with her husband and her other three children, Amanda, Sam, and Zima (16 year old iguana).

Veterinary Nurse Supervisor
Niki is our veterinary nurse supervisor and implemented our formal training program. She started her career with Indian Tree as a volunteer in 1999. After graduating from Bel Rea, she accepted a permanent position as a veterinary nurse at Indian Tree. Niki’s interests are massage therapy and anesthesia.

Client Care Supervisor
Heather worked for Indian Tree in 2003 for a close to three years and left to start her own business. She returned to Indian Tree in January 2008 as our Client Care Supervisor. She also aspires to become a pastor in the future.
